Orthodontist, Educator, and Main Inventor of InSmile Braces
Dr. Hongsheng Tong is a board-certified orthodontist, educator, scientist, and the main inventor of InSmile Braces. Dr. Tong graduated from the University of Southern California (USC), where he has also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor for over 20 years. He owns and operates BigSmile Orthodontics in Riverside and Chino, where he has treated over 10,000 patients, drawing patients from as far as San Francisco, San Diego, and Bakersfield because of his level of expertise. Dr. Tong is respected worldwide and has been invited to give presentations across the US and abroad.
In addition to his clinical excellence, he has contributed significantly to the field of orthodontics through research and innovation. Several of his research projects have been featured on the cover of the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics and the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics. This research became the foundation for InSmile Braces, where he served as the original company's Chief Technology Officer and Chief Medical Officer. He later transitioned to Principal Orthodontic Scientist and eventually to a consulting Clinical Advisor role, allowing him to focus more of his time on caring for patients. Dr. Tong is currently the only Platinum tiered InSmile provider in Riverside and Chino, which means that he treats more InSmile cases in these areas than any other orthodontist. In fact, the very first patients ever treated with InSmile Braces were treated right at BigSmile Orthodontics, which is why we proudly call it the birthplace of InSmile Braces.
